translation is likewise public domain (Project Gutenberg #445).

Corpus assembled
The single proof work is The Crowd. See CORPUS_BOUNDARY.md for the exact
books selected as the evidence pool: Book I (all four chapters) and
Book II (anchors chiefly from ch. III — leaders, means of action, prestige).
Book III (classification of crowd-types) is present in the file but touched
only as an out-of-corpus cross-reference in v1.
Attribution layers (voice metadata)
voice: lebon— Le Bon's own expository voice (the connective argument of
each chapter). This is almost the whole book.- Inside Le Bon's prose he quotes others (Napoleon, Fustel de Coulanges,
General Wolseley, Dr. Cazalis, the Neue Freie Presse, Vandamme, Davoust,
Herbert Spencer as a foil). Those are quotations reported by Le Bon:
verbatim in the corpus, but the note names the reported speaker. They are
evidence for his doctrine, not independent authorities in this KB.
Language layers
- English is the primary evidence pool. Every evidence blockquote is a
verbatim English substring ofthecrowd_pg445.txt. - French is the term arbiter. The canonical concept vocabulary in
TERMINOLOGY.mdis checked against Le Bon's original French
(Psychologie des foules) so the translator's English word-choices do not
distort the slugs. French is not itself an ingested evidence layer. - RU layer. No clean PD Russian translation was ingested. All Russian
renderings in this vault are our own careful translations from the PD English,
marked «перевод наш», and are not matched by the verbatim gate.
Self-check
scripts/verify_quotes.py re-checks that every > blockquote in concepts/,
principles/ and chains/ is a whitespace-normalized, case-exact verbatim
substring of sources/thecrowd_pg445.txt, and that every [[wikilink]]
resolves to a note in this vault. sources/qsearch.py is the single-phrase
helper used while writing.
